Getting Here and Where to Stay

Flying into Knoxville

Knoxville has a small (and sometimes expensive airport) and the code is TYS (Tyson McGhee Airport). We recommend booking flights early as there are infrequent directs, while it is serviced by Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, DFW (no Southwest), JFK, and Miami. Find a full list here at flyknoxville.com.

Nashville and Atlanta are other nearby major cities to fly into, with Nashville being typically slightly easier and a shorter 3 hour drive to Knoxville. One important note when planning travel from Nashville is that it is on Central time, while Knoxville is on Eastern time.

Hotels

We recommend the below hotels downtown for walkabiity to the wedding events, and will have a shuttle from them to the church and then to the reception. The hotels are joined together (with a fun bar/restaurant The Maker Exchange in between), and are blocks from the Knoxville Museum of Art and Knoxville’s Market Square. Neyland Stadium is walkable as well (20 minutes).

The Tennessean

The Tennessean can be booked directly here, and is located next to the Marriott.

Marriott

The Marriott can be booked directly here, and is the one on Henley Street in downtown Knoxville.

Other Recommended Hotels

As the availability at hotels is getting tighter, we also recommend the following downtown hotels:

  • Hotel Cleo
  • The Oliver
  • Hyatt Place
  • Embassy Suites
  • Courtyard Marriott
